How can you make your Interior Design career easier, without a degree.

Nine years ago or so, when I ventured off to start my interior design career path, after only just discovering the world of interior design a few months earlier...I knew I was in for a bumpy path. I didn't have the luxury to go get a degree or certification. I didn't have the time or money. And there wasn't that much available in terms of learning online. I picked up pieces where I could. Books & any online course or YouTube videos I found...but it was hard. Took time. Which is why, after 8 years of running my business, having now moved into the software world, I am super passionate about helping people who are now, where I was then.

I have over 140 free videos on TikTok with exercises, tips, instructions, tools on how to become an interior designer without necessarily having to go to college. I am trying to move some over to Instagram & YouTube shorts too, for those of you who are not on TikTok...and in case we lose TikTok. But right now, the videos are too long (because they are packed with goodness for you).

And...recently I've upped my game & found time to upload some deeper dive courses, and some killer tools & templates that really take your self education process to the next level.

Let's talk about a few.

#1: The "Bible" - the policies & procedures document. In order to efficiently run any business, with or without a team, you need your systems mapped out clearly. You need to have a clear path of who does what, when & how at each stage of the business process. What happens when a potential client reaches out? What is your follow up process? How do you prepare for a consultation? What happens on a consultation & immediately following? How & where do you store client info, project documents, purchasing information? What is the step by step process of design development & approvals? Project management?

Essentially, me sharing my own company's 35 page Policies & procedures document...is giving you the most condensed & concentrated Interior Design education in a "bottle". It's the ultimate cheat on so many levels I can't even begin to explain. No where else will you find or have access to this much information & insight without spending years working next to a designer - and even then really. Not college, not online courses, not books (although you will in mine when my Degree-less Design book comes out hopefully before the summer) and not podcasts. To give you an idea, if I were to turn this into an online video course - which I'm sure I will at some point when I have the time...it would probably be 40hrs long at a minimum.

I know I may seem biased but I assure you - I WISH I had had access to something like this from day one. I'd have less grey hairs, would have been profitable much much faster, would have saved time & money with regards to poor hires, and had higher client satisfaction which leads to referrals & repeat clients.
